JaeDon LeDee Scouting Report
Standing tall at 6’9″, 240 lbs, San Diego State super-senior Jaedon LeDee is someone who has flown up my draft board, really out of nowhere. He currently ranks 25th on My 2024 NBA Draft Board.
LeDee began his college career at Ohio State University, where he struggled his way through a season on just 6.6 minutes per game. Following the season, he transferred to Texas Christian University.
He spent two seasons at TCU, averaging a mild 2.7 points per game in, once again, limited minutes.
Finally, in 2022, he transferred to San Diego State University, where he averaged nearly nine points and five rebounds per game. The Aztecs fell to UConn in the NCAA Championship game, where he added seven points and four rebounds. Finally though, he had shown the world he was a real contributor to an elite roster, and that he just might be able to crack it at this whole college thing.

In the 2023-24 season, LeDee has been a standout, averaging 20.2 points, 9.9 rebounds and nearly two stocks per game on 57% from the field and 42% from three-point range.
But it’s largely LeDee's versatility that has lead to his success this season. He has the ability to bully and conquer smaller opponents around the basket, but he is also capable of scoring from the mid-to-high-post, courtesy of his face-up and pull-up prowess. Furthermore, his ball-handling abilities enable him to efficiently attack from the outside, frequently drawing fouls and resulting in trips to the free throw line.
He possesses an innate ability to read the floor, run plays and hit players in their stride. He’s like a guard trapped inside the body of a dominant low-post big; and that’s because he is.
As LeDee's ball-handling and passing abilities have grown in his new role, the foundation of his court awareness can be traced back to his time as a point guard, prior to moving to the frontcourt as a result of a growth spurt.
He will be 23 by the time of the draft, so look for a contender to pick him up, similarly to Jaime Jaquez Jr., and Trayce Jackson-Davis in the recent 2023 NBA Draft. He is ready to contribute to winning basketball at this second. In fact, don’t be surprised if a contender takes a flyer on him on the back end of the first-round.
